Please add any memories, final toasts, or roasts

for Roland!

Dear Connie, Rachel and Karen,   Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I was the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at JK Mullen High School from 1997-2005 and had the great privilege of knowing and working with Roland on several projects. He was always so kind and nice to all. I feel lucky to have known him. God bless you.

Dear Rachael and family,

I am so sorry for the loss of your father and husband. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I remember meeting Roland at St. Ben’s and seeing him again when I visited you guys in Colorado and for the garbage sale. May all your memories keep you going in these hard times. Lots of love to all of you.

Annie Kronebusch

Connie, Rachael, and Karen, my deepest condolences to you all during this time. Roland will truly be missed.

I remember meeting Roland and his wonderful family as the "folks across the street" when we first moved into that small neighborhood in Lakewood, his kind demeanor and welcoming smile was a hallmark of the best kind of great neighbor you'd hope to find. We all had many great summers together filled with great BBQ's, water fights, and slow bike rides or walks through the greenbelt. Quick with his wit, and always with a smile or a joke, Roland was a joy to talk to. While the neighborhood might have been small, Roland's examples of kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength will forever shine on and ripple through positively for all of the things he did to make everyone's lives there better. Sail on, sir, the waters are smooth from here on.

Dear Connie, and family:

Connie, I am so glad we were able to sit down at that table in Colorado a few years ago and “meet” for the first time.  As I was one of the younger cousins I knew you and Roland as only names...  within 10 minutes of visiting I could feel a warmth emanating from both of you that I will cherish my entire life.   During this time of sorrow and separation I can only offer my prayers and the biggest (virtual) hug!!   May the love and peace of Jesus be your constant companion.

Love, Dean

Sweet peace and love to you, Lundby family.  My whole  heart goes out to you, Rachael, Karen, and Connie.  Your dad/husband was such an upbeat life-loving, hardworking, and wonderful goofball of a guy.  Every time I visited you in CO or saw him in MN during our college years, he was always so genuinely/seriously interested in us and our well-being, but also always brought such sunshine and joy and giggles to every room he entered.  The last time I saw him a couple years ago as Rachael and I were pulling out of his driveway, he was joyfully trying to keep up with little man Carter and his bouncy ball.  So much love for your family and may his fun youthful energy live on in you all!  Hugs, love, and prayers for comfort to you. heart

We just finished watching that beautiful memorial collection of photos reflecting the very full and wonderful life of Roland. Then, we read all of these memories. This man obviously touched so many lives in such positive ways. He loved his folks and his siblings. And he carried that love to his own beautiful family. Connie, you and Roland packed a lot of love and adventure into your precious years together. And, you gave us two wonderful, talented nieces, Rachael and Karen. Daughters after their father's heart, for sure. He had a chance to welcome another hardworking entrepreneur into the family, Coy, his dear son-in-law. Little grandson Carter then just topped off Roland's life with so much joy.heart

A life very well lived. Roland will be with you always.

Love all of you so much.

Georgia and Joe

To my beloved lifelong friends Rachael and Karen, and to Connie, their dear sweet mother...this news has weighed heavy on my heart since I heard it and not a day has passed where I haven't thought of you all nearly constantly. There are so many memories I could share of your beautiful family and the warmth and joy you all have brought to us. I remember when we first moved to the Bear Creek neighborhood and the Stevens had the welcome BBQ for us, Roland came over to visit and introduce himself and his zany, fantastic sense of humor and incredible imagination was clear right from the get go and Lisa & I knew we'd get along famously. Something about aliens and very shortly, we were initiated into the Rude Dogs, where we fought gloriously beside our brave and fearless leader, Roland. He always had a kind word to say and I remember so many summer nights where all of us neighborhood kids would sit in the cul-de-sac, he'd come out to summon his children home for homework or chores and it was never that feeling of AW MAN, your dad's here! It was always, oh yay! Roland came out to visit for a bit! I don't think there is a soul alive who didn't love him and we all always will. I am eternally grateful that he and Connie raised such beautiful daughters who I have been blessed to call friends for so many years. You know someone has lived their life well when memories of them never fail to bring a smile, even if it is mixed with tears right now. I truly hope his legacy can bring you all peace and comfort for now and always. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives. Love always.

To Roland's dear family, my deepest condolences. I met Roland through his work on awards and plaques for the Iliff School of Theology. He always had the best advice on all of my standard orders, and was a big help when I needed something but didn't quite know what it was a I needed! I enjoyed our visits when he would drop off an order. He was very easy to talk to. He was always genuinely interested in hearing about my family and I really enjoyed hearing about his. I cherish having known him. You are all in my prayers.

Roland, thank you for being you! Your great sense of humor and camaraderie made us realize why you were an integral part of the Canzoneri family, to us it was obvious.  We will miss seeing your smiling face and hearing your warm, hearty laugh.  We pray that God will console Connie, Rachel, Karen, Coy and Carter and all of us that were lucky enough to have you touch our life.  We have wonderful and indelible memories and we thank you for those.

I never saw Roland without a smile on his face. He was a strong, confident and friendly man. I remember the day he and Connie met. So blessed to have forty five years to love and support each other.

Sleep well my Best Friend.  Words could never explain the space you left in my life.  Our memories that we made together will always keep me going.  You will always be alive and smiling in my heart.  You were not just a special friend, you were my brother.  I’ll see you on the other side.  Rest In Peace my dear pal Roland.

When Connie moved to Arizona to begin a new life adventure, she hit the pot of gold when she met Roland. He was a loving, kind, encouraging man who loved his parents and siblings and passed on that same devotion to Connie and the new family they created.  We were lucky to have you as a brother, Roland. We will keep your memory in our hearts.

Connie and girls - So sorry to hear about your dear husband and dad.  Connie, I know that right now you feel that life as you know it is over, and it is - but the good Lord still has a plan for you.  Trust Him and let that plan work out.  Love you – Jim

Rachael, Karen, and Connie, we're holding you close in our hearts. It takes a pretty spectacular man to help raise a person like Rachael whose friendship means so much to me (and who must have been an horribly unruly child). Sending you much love,

Roland,

We now live in a time where next door neighbors don’t speak, no one on the block even knows each other and if they do, we barely wave as they pass by. It’s incredibly hard to imagine a time where an entire neighborhood would get together for tea, meet up to discuss the weather and politics or to arrange the next neighborhood water fight. Some of my earliest and best memories were shaped by you.  Growing up a shy and nervous kid too afraid to make friends, I was immediately introduced into an entire new group of people who helped me gain a personality, taught me how to be myself and quickly became friends that would shape my future.  I spent years looking up to Rachael and Karen, adoring all the time we spent together and the lessons I leaned from them and through you. Thank you for all the amazing memories. Your family and your neighbors were so incredibly lucky to have you.  Rude Dogs for Life.

Karen, Rachael, and Connie, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I only got to meet Roland once or twice, but I remember him as kind with a good sense of humor, much like his daughters. I'll never forget the geese chasing all of us roommates and our dads before the St. Ben's Father/Daughter dance! It made for some good laughs together. Our love and prayers are with you, Nicole & Alex

Connie, This was a total shock to us! So sorry to hear of Roland's passing. We are grateful that we had that breakfast at Le Peep with the 2 of you a couple of years ago. And then we were treated royally by Rachael at her restaurant. It was so nice to get a little better acquanted with your amazing husband and daughter and to catch up with you after many years! Our love and prayers, Diana & Bob Kaiser

Uncle Roland,

Almost all of my memories of you are tied to times that all (or most as we got older) of our family was together whether for a holiday, a vacation, or just a get together when we hadn't seen you in awhile. I've always seen you as someone with such a kind heart and jovial demeanor. This was reinforced most recently when I heard that even though you weren't feeling your best, you still made the time to call grandmother and ask how I was when you heard that I was sick. I love you very much and you are missed.

Kelsey

Uncle Roland, you will be extremely missed. I will never forget the times that you made an effort to come and visit me when I had a layover in Denver. I love you and I will miss you.

Shayla
